Delhi: Indian cricketer Shardul Thakur has spoken out against the poor facilities provided to the Indian cricket team during their 2021 tour of Australia. Thakur claimed that both head coach Ravi Shastri and captain Ajinkya Rahane repeatedly communicated with Cricket Australia regarding the inadequate facilities. He mentioned that even simple requests, like changing a bedsheet, required walking five floors up in the hotel they were staying at. Thakur also criticized former Australian captain Tim Paine, stating that his interviews were full of lies and that Paine's claim of accommodating India's needs was an attempt to cover up his own failures.
India won the 2021 Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and afterward, Indian players were not keen on looking Australians in the eye, as they felt mistreated by Australian cricket throughout the series, Thakur added.
