The last time Knight Riders tasted victory was against the Super Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in the final of the 2012 edition. Chennai is one of the most dominant teams at home in the IPL. In 2023, CSK have lost two of their six home games so far and will be hoping to build on their two-match winning streak in Chepauk. As Punjab Kings chased down 201 runs last month, the pitch at the MA Chidambaram Stadium seemed to have slowed down. Mumbai Indians managed only 139 runs in the next match and Delhi Capitals could not chase down 168 runs in the final match at the venue. With teams 1 and 2 winning three matches each, not much should be riding on the outcome of the toss.
